Pallavi Latkar
Pallavi is the Founder Director of GRASS ROOTS. She is an Architect, Planner and an Environmental Researcher spearheading research and practice towards Ecologically Integrated Spatial Planning methodologies.
She has also conducted several workshops on Environmental Planning and has been involved in teaching since 1994 at the Kamla Raheja Vidhyanidhi Institute for Architecture ( KRVIA Mumbai) and also at the Institute for Environmental Architecture at Rachana Sansad Mumbai.
She has presented papers at various conferences and her recently published paper at the International Conference in Gothenberg, Sweden, won her the Swedish International Scholarship for Sustainable Development.
Her deep interest in environmental issues probably arises from her formative years spent in Kenya particularly her schooling in the environs of Lake Victoria in Kisumu, As her family later returned to India she acquired her academic degrees in Architecture, Town Planning and Landscaping from the University of Pune,India
Pallavi Latkar is also heading the CENTRE FOR URBAN STUDIES at the Rachana Sansad Institute in Mumbai.

Megha Parekh Sinha
Megha was involved in the project on ‘Development around the lakes for sustaining the biodiversity and ecological status of the environs’ carried out under the Design cell of KRVIA.
She has completed her Bachelors of Architecture from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture & Environmental Studies (KRVIA) and holds a Masters Degree in Urban & Regional Planning (M.U.P.) from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.
Her research interests revolve around the impact of development policies on the health of our cities’ natural and built environments; specifically on urban brown-fields and their re-use potential in promoting urban sustainability.
She is currently employed as Planner & Architect at Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott, an architectural, planning and interior design firm in Boston, Massachusetts.

Sachin Waghmare
Sachin is an architect interested in the field on environmental architecture and planning for sustainable Human development. He has acquired a PG diploma in Environmental Architecture from Rachana Sansad, Mumbai University. He has been involved in research work with Grass roots on the Dahanu Project and Charlotte Lake Conservation project.
After completing B. Arch from Sir J. J. College of Architecture he worked for Architect Hafeez Contractor and Kalpak Architects, Mulund as an Assistant Architect, where he was involved in designing and execution of residential building projects and industrial projects. He is currently working as an assistant architect with Ketan Chheda Architects and has also done few commercial and residential interior projects in and around Mumbai.

Vinit Date
Minal Haldankar
Minal is an architect
graduated from Dr.D.Y.Patil college of architecture. She has also completed
postgraduate diploma in Environmental Architecture from Rachana Sansad
College, Mumbai.
She was involved in 'Environmental management Plan for Matheran Plateau' and
took deep interest in the preparation of 'Thane Lake Conservation and
Management Plan' carried out by Grass Roots.
She was a part of the team involved in 'Eco-housing Certification and Rating
program' initiated by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). She is
also working on architectural landscape and interior designing projects in
and around Mumbai.
She has advance architectural presentation skills and is interested in
trekking, nature trails, photography and sketching.

Yatin Gokhale
Yateen is an architect and he has also completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Architecture from Rachana Sansad College, Mumbai. He was involved in site surveys and documentation for the project ‘Environmental management Plan for Matheran Plateau’.
His interests lie in Hiking, Painting,
Drawing, Reading and Photography. He is currently involved in Architecture &
Interior Projects in & around Mumbai.

Gauri Vasant Gurav
Gauri is a botanist who likes to roam in forests and observe various plants, insects, birds, mammals etc.
She wishes to some day visit all the forests of India.
She has completed her M. Sc. in Botany from Mumbai University and also holds a PG Diploma in Sustainable Natural Resource Management and Conservation from Palash institute (Mumbai) and a PG Diploma in Geomorphology from Palash institute (Mumbai).
She is currently working with Grass Roots as an expert on botany and is a volunteer at Nature Information Centre (NIC) of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai.

Abhay M. Patil
Abhay is a graduate in architecture from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies (KRVIA). He was involved in site surveys and documentation of lakes in Thane city for the project on preparation of Ecologically Integrated Lakes Management Plan for Thane Metropolitan Region.
He is interested in exploring all facets of Architecture, especially in environmental and ecological issues of planning - 'Landscape Urbanism' and is currently pursuing M. Arch. in Advanced Architectural Studies from the University of Sheffield, UK.

Stuti Kalamdani
Stuti graduated in architecture from
Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies
(KRVIA). She has also completed a course in Advanced Computer Arts from CDAC
and is involved as a designer with PUKAR (Partners for Urban Knowledge
Action and Research). She has taught as a visiting faulty at KRVIA and SNDT.
Her interests lie in designing; from graphics to interiors to architecture
to cities. She is deeply concerned with issues related to environmental
planning and development and is one of the founding members of Grass Roots.
She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Environmental Architecture
from YCMOU, conducted by Rachna Sansad, Mumbai.
A traveler, a reader, a thinker, she is also one of the lively members of
the group.

Bhakti Hajare Godambe
Bhakti is an architect, having graduated from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies (KRVIA) and has been involved with Grass Roots right from its inception. She holds a Diploma in Multimedia Creations (D.M.C.) from CDAC conducted by Mumbai Educational Trust (M.E.T.), Bandra and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Project Management by YCMOU from Rachna Sansad College, Prabhadevi.
She has been a visiting Faculty at SNDT University in the Interior Department for Furniture Design and Workshop and is involved in Interior Designing and Graphic Designing along with research projects.
She has an avid interest for research work related to environment and for interior designing projects and going for site visits and surveys to various places are her likings.

Vinit Waghe
Vinit is a civil engineer with an avid interest in the field of ecology. He has completed his Diploma in Natural Resource Management and Conservation conducted by Palaash and Ecological Society, Pune and a certificate course in Geography from Palaash and is currently pursuing BSc in Geography from the university of Madras. He is also a GIS analyst having worked in the field with various companies before becoming an integral part of Grass Roots.
His interests lie in trekking, traveling, reading and writing and is he one of the most enthusiastic and energetic member of the team.
